2x2 intermediate (ortega method)
if you want to be faster at the 2x2 then this method is for you. It is quite easy to average around 5~6 seconds and even below that using this method. This is known as the Ortega method. This method has three steps:
1. First Face
2. Second Face
3. Permute both layers, solving the cube
STEP ONE
This step should now be a piece of cake to you and should not take more than 3 seconds. During the inspection time try to plan this step out, and possibly predict the OLL case.
STEP TWO
In this step, we are going to complete the second face, which will be OPPOSITE of the first face. Mastering this step takes time because there are seven algorithms to memorize.

STEP THREE
in this stage you will permute both faces to solve the cube.

Congratulations! Once you have mastered these algorithms for this method it will be easy to get your time down to 5 seconds. If you are serious about the 2x2, then you should check out the Advanced method (CLL) too.
